2024 MIXMASTER THROWDOWN DJ OF THE YEAR

We are incredibly excited to announce the Marquee Show DJ of the Year Competition

Please read carefully the rules below to help you with your online submission. Good luck!

Marquee Show DJ of the Year Competition ENTRY RULES:

Must submit a registration form and a 10-minute video routine during open submission dates March 1st – June 20th 2024 (see video submission rules).

Controllers can be used for submission videos, however, all finalists MUST perform on gear supplied. Gear is currently TBA

Finalists must be able to provide any necessary performance tools at the battle (USBs, Serato laptop with all cables and timecode, CD’s etc)

Video Submission Rules:

Videos must not exceed 10 minutes in length.

Video routines MUST include a minimum of 7-tracks.

All videos must be submitted with a completed registration form. Videos must include a brief introduction that includes your DJ name and why you want to play at the 2024 Marquee Show.

A full track list must accompany your video (track list section will be included on registration form).

All videos must be in an unedited direct audio recording of your routine.

Videos may be linked from YouTube or Dropbox and may be posted/shared by the Marquee Show team during the finalist announcement phase of the competition.  All Dropbox links MUST be made public before submitting and must be in MP4 format.

Videos must include a clear view of ALL equipment being used (mixer, CDJ’s, etc.)

ALL submissions must be received between March 1st – June 20th 2024.  Any video(s) received prior to and/or after the open submission dates will not be considered.

Judging Criteria:

Your video routine will be judged on two areas of skill.

Overall mixing, mixing speed, and rhythmic skill.  

Use of the equipment/mixer.  

Blends, chops, scratching, beat juggling, and other tricks.

Musicality:  Track selection.  Musical style.  Track flow & compatibility.

We will choose 6 finalists who will go on to compete at the 2024 Marquee Show.

PRIZES:

FINALISTS:  We will choose SIX finalists to compete at the 2024 Marquee Show.  

Finalists will also receive ONE complimentary admission ticket to the Marquee Show 

GRAND PRIZE:  ONE winner will earn $5,000 in sponsored prizes.
